IDEA

MAIN DESIGN CHALLENGE

Integrating a new building into the natural landscape.

DESIGN CONCEPT

The main idea was to create a building whose form responds to the surrounding landscape and blends harmoniously with the existing natural environment.

The concept was inspired by nature and its layered structure. The design process began with an analysis of the successive layers found in the natural environment. This principle was translated into the building’s form, with individual levels arranged one above another to create a dynamic, organic composition.

Another source of inspiration was the natural topography of the site. The gradual layering of the building recalls the formation of hills and elevations, giving the architecture a form that appears to rise naturally from the terrain.

Greenery also became an important element of the concept. The roof above the auditorium takes the form of a gently rising green landscape, allowing the architecture to become an extension of the surrounding park. Existing trees and a proposed pedestrian walkway with a café further strengthen the relationship between the building and its natural setting.

FUNCTION

The project was divided into several main functional zones.

The first is an entrance plaza with a fountain, surrounded by greenery. It provides a welcoming space for relaxation, social interaction, recreation and spending time with family and friends.

The main entrance leads directly towards the stage and auditorium. Carefully designed lighting highlights the form of the building after dark and strengthens its presence within the landscape.

Another key element is the system of elevated pedestrian walkways, which also function as viewing platforms. They offer different perspectives of the surrounding park, stage and auditorium, with seating and resting areas located along the routes.

Above the stage, a terrace with a café forms the highest viewpoint within the development, offering panoramic views over the park and theatre area.

STAGE & CAFÉ TERRACE

Terraces with a café were designed above the stage, creating the highest viewing point of the development, approximately 8 metres above ground level.

AUDITORIUM

The main auditorium was designed to accommodate approximately 800 people. Additional audience space is provided on the gently rising green roof, which can also be used as an area for recreation and relaxation.

PEDESTRIAN WALKWAY

The elevated walkway functions as a viewing platform, walking route and relaxation area. It offers views over the park and theatre from a higher perspective while maintaining a direct connection with the surrounding greenery.

The entire development was designed as a multifunctional public space extending beyond its primary theatre function. It can also serve as a place for social interaction, relaxation, recreational activities and everyday use of the park.
